Alex Sarkisian is an American artist who currently lives and works in Glasgow, Scotland. She completed her MFA at the Glasgow School of Art in 2014, with an Erasmus Exchange to the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam, and received her BA in Fine Art and Technocultural Studies from the University of California, Davis USA. She has recently exhibited at Akureyri Art Museum, Akureyri, Iceland; Nikolaj Kunsthal, Copenhagen, Denmark; Horatio Junior, London, England; Govanhill Baths, Glasgow, Scotland, Upominki, Rotterdam, the Netherlands; Space Neoterismoi Toumazoua, Nicosia, Cyprus; Talbot Rice Gallery, Edinburgh, Scotland. Recent residencies include the Arctic Circle Residency in the International Territory of Svalbard, Hospitalfield Arts in Arbroath, Scotland and the Ffffast Summer Residency at Space Neoterismoi Toumazou in Nicosia, Cyprus. Alex is currently on the committee for Transmission Gallery in Glasgow.
Jack Cheetham currently lives and works in Glasgow and graduated from the Masters of Fine Art Programme at Glasgow School of Art in 2014. He has previously studied fine art in London, Tel Aviv & Jerusalem. Previous exhibitions include Prehistoric Loom, Akureyi Art Museum Iceland 2016; Treat Yo Self, Bloc Projects Sheffield 2015; Dear Green, ZK/U Berlin Germany 2014; Bezalel Desert Residency Exhibition, Israel 2014; How Many Shades Would an Artist Pack for Holidays?, Space Neoterismoi Toumazou, Nicosia Cyprus 2013; Trophy (solo), Horatio Junior, London England 2013. Recently he had his second solo exhibition entitled Chris at Horatio Junior, London 2014 and receive the Glasgow Visual Art Award 2016. Jack also works as a Technician and Short Course Tutor at Glasgow School of Art.
Alex Sarkisian and Jack Cheetham have previously collaborated in the production of the book Stayin exhibited at Horatio Junior, London and will be collaborating for an exhibition at VOIDOIDArchive Gallery, Glasgow in March 2016. They will also be exhibiting together in the Glasgow International Festival in April 2016.
