Karen Nicol

Karen Nicol is an embroidery and mixed media textile designer/artist. She has an embroidery design business working in fashion and interiors and gallery. For many years she collaborated in fashion with designers such as Chloe, Chanel and Givenchy and in interiors she designed for a huge list of clients including the King of Qatar and the Pope.

Since 2010 she has shown with the Rebecca Hossack Art Gallery with her embroidered and sculptured animals ‘Couture Creatures’ animals wearing high fashion ….Napoleonic Polar Bears to Marquetry foxes.

Karen was senior lecturer and Visiting Professor on the textiles Masters degree at the Royal College of Art for 19 years.
