Jenny Mackenzie Ross is a ceramic artist living and working in the far north of Scotland, her interest is in the landscape, its structure and the shifting timescales that are at play within it.
Her work is mainly sculptural and she uses found materials as innovations in her making process. She is also an advocate for traditional skills, and a firm believer in ‘the handmade object’.
Jenny studied fine art (sculpture) at Newcastle university 1981-85, and gained experience in ceramics by working in potteries. In the last few years Jenny has exhibited at Collins Gallery , Glasgow, Axoltyl Gallery, Edinburgh, Watermill Gallery, Aberfeldy and had solo exhibitions at Northlands Creative Glass and St Fergus Gallery, Wick. However, most of Jenny’s work is exhibited and sold at her studio gallery in Caithness.
