John Walter (born 1978, Dartford, UK) studied at The Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, Oxford The Slade School of Fine Art, London. In 2006 he was artist in residence at KIAC in Dawson City, Canada. From 2006-8 he was Sainsbury Scholar at The British School at Rome. In 2011 he was awarded a residency at MEANTIME in Cheltenham. In 2011 he organized ‘Two Peacocks’ a project that culminated in a group show in the form of a Department Store and an accompanying book that was both a catalogue and a dictionary for the show (for which he was awarded a large grant from The Arts Council of England).
